A first piece from Prairie Creek.
A few weeks ago, David sat down to read the prologue of The Lord of the Rings to our daughter. She was a few months old. He'd been doing it for nights already — small moments, the kind no one was supposed to see. We filmed one. The internet decided it wanted to see it too.
What we heard back, over and over, in thousands of comments, was some version of the same thing: I want to be the kind of parent who does that. I want to be the kind of dad my dad never was. I want my kids to hear stories from me.
